Movin' on Over....

First, thanks to each and every one of you for your thoughts, prayers, well-wishes and blog visits while I have been away. I am back, somewhat more peaceful than when I left. I have been keeping up with you guys and gals and it has been inspiring.

Secondly...each of you that visit here are part of the Blogger world and know that it can sometimes be a chore to keep up with all the changes made by Blogger. Therefore, now that I am back, I will be combining both my blogs into one (hopefully this will be less technical for me (lol) and will allow me to make changes more easily since the other blog was somewhat newer and more "updated" in technicality than this one. I will leave this blog open and available for you to access, but will resume regular blogging over at my other blog Thoughts From My World .

It is refreshing to be back and I look forward to getting back into the 'blogging world' and hanging out with my old friends as well as meeting new friends.

Much love and appreciation to each and every one of you......

peace...

that is what i am longing for
at this time.
i will be away from the blogging world
for an indefinite amount of time.
i have some serious decisions that
i have been dealing with
for several months
and they have just
about gotten the best of me.
i appreciate everyone who has visited
my blog and all the nice comments that
you all have left for me.
i will treasure those
for the remainder of my time here.
i have met some wonderful friends
through the internet and
each of you hold a very special place in my heart.
i may continue to drop in
occasionally to see what's up with
each of you.
but for now...i must go.
much love to all of you....

Are You Tough Enough??

Growing up in a "livestock family" I attended my share of rodeo, bull riding, team roping and wild west events. However, this weekend I took part in the first, of what I hope is many more, event of this kind and would ask that all of you try to attend if one comes your way. We got tickets (thanks Mom) to attend the rodeo here in town. Unknown to me at the time I purchased the tickets, this rodeo was participating in a new realm of rodeo and Western events that are helping to support breast cancer treatment and research. The new slogan is "tough Enough to Wear Pink" in which all participants wear pink (shirts, hats, chaps or any piece of clothing). It was awesome to see these tough cowboys and cowgirls dressed out in their pink shirts or hats or (in one instance chaps).

You can go to the Tough Enough To Wear website and view photos and order things to help support this. We had a great time and will attend many other Tough Enough events in the future so that people like momma can continue to receive life saving treatment and medication.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart and remember "We love you Mom!"

~BATHTIME IS A FUN TIME~

One of the funnest things to do with a kid is play in the bathtub.....so, while on vacation I spent one entire day with the munchkin and we had a blast. We went to the bike show..( a kid after my own heart...biker in training), visited the fair but the most fun of all was the HOUR AND A HALF that we spent playing in the bathtub. We made 'bubble beards, practiced 'shabin'(shaving...and no, he never touched a real razor so don't go calling Child Protective Services on me!) We played with water guns, water balloons and cups and cups full of water. I think by the time we finished, the floor was about an inch deep in water and bubbles but that was ok, because he is worth every bit of it!!!!

I Have Returned...

To my limited number of, but faithful readers, I have returned tot he blogging world. I have been on vacation from work this week and for the first time in the almost 9 years that I have lived in Tennessee, I did not go home to Mississippi for vacation. Although, I do miss my family something terribly, I felt that I needed to relax at home and not have to deal with the stress of packing bags, traveling for 6 hours each way and then felling like I needed a vacation from my vacation. Instead I chose to spend the entire week right here at home. It has been wonderful and I do feel refreshed and ready to return to work. I will make a trip home to Mississippi some time this summer to visit the fam, but until then.... this is what my vacation consisted of...

Working on the swimming pool to get it ready for summer. This entailed three different trips to town to have the water tested, adding a hefty (literally and financially) amount of chemicals, trying to vacuum things off the bottom before I could even see the bottom. However, by tomorrow it will be ready to go and I WILL be the first one in.

I worked in my yard and offered some tender loving care to my huge rose bush, completed the re-do of our water fountain in the front yard, placed mulch in every flower bed and around every shrub/tree in my yard.

And last but not least, I spent lots of time with this precious and spontaneous child...

....and did a lot of catching up on some zzzzzzz's.

Thanks to all who continued to visit my blog while I was away.

Ms. Elvee (L.V. Hull) Is Decorating Heaven

I am and always will be a Mississippi Girl' no matter where I lay my head each night. I am proud of this state and the wonderful unique people that she has produced...
While growing up in Mississippi I became slightly acquainted with a lady from Kosciusko, MS known as Ms. Elvee (L.V Hull was her correct name but we just referred to her as Ms. Elvee).
I must say that most of the locals, although they welcomed her with open arms, often thought she was ....uhm, a little off her rocker, so to speak.
However, I fell in love, not just with the woman but with her philosophy and outlook onlife and will forever fall back on her words of wisdom....
Ms. Elvee often created "artwork" out of junk and other ordinary things that she either found on the roadside or was given by people.... she often gave gifts of handmade and hand painted crosses on which she would inscribe the phrase “Jesus is coming to Kosciusko, Ms. 39090". And on April 15th he did just that and took Ms. Elvee home with him.....what a glorious occasion that must have been. Please take the time to listen to the interview with Ms. Elvee below and I promise you will leave with a smile on your face.
I dedicate this post to Ms. Elvee and all the people that she has touched in her time in this world.
And on a side note.....I dedicate this post to my artistic/creative blogger sisters amias and suzanne (liquid) who will appreciate the Mississippi heritage delivered in Ms. Elvee's simple message....
